IIB provides FINRA and State registration and licensing. IIB offers a business-friendly noninvasive approach to compliance so investment bankers can operate independently while still meeting the necessary regulatory requirements.
For professionals who are already licensed the transition to the IIB platform is fast and painless. If you are not licensed you will need to obtain your SIE (Securities Industry Essentials), Series 79, and Series 63.

After passing the SIE you are then ready to register with IIB, and we can sponsor you to take the Series 79 and 63.

Limited Representative- Investment Banking
This is exam was created to ensure that investment bankers have adequate knowledge in mergers & acquisitions, financial restructuring, public investment banking and refinancing.
Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam
All IIB bankers are required to take the Series 63 as a condition of state registration. This securities license entitles the holder to register in any state.
Securities Industry Essentials Exam
In order to become registered to engage in securities business, an individual must also pass a new FINRA exam called the Securities Industry Essentials exam (SIE). This exam assesses the knowledge of the fundamentals to working in the industry, such as types of products and their risks; the structure of the securities industry markets, regulatory agencies and their functions; and prohibited practices.
IIB offers some of the lowest costs and highest payouts in the industry; IIB is a cost-effective way to leverage our shared resources and experienced management team, eliminating the expense and time of setting up and operating your own broker-dealer.
We offer a variable compensation schedule with payouts ranging from 90% – 98% based off your cumulative production during a calendar year.
If you are already licensed then your one-time onboarding cost is $1,250. If you are not licensed it is $1,750. That includes your FINRA fees, technology, background checks, email archiving and other costs. Everyone is required to carry E&O insurance through IIB and that is $1,000 per year. It is prorated in year one based on when you join. Annual renewals are $750 plus E&O Insurance.
There are no additional IIB administration fees if you close deals during the year.
IIB seeks to support the entrepreneurial spirit by providing the ability for boutique investment banks to brand under their own identity while still operating in a compliant framework. IIB promotes your brand by sharing your accomplishments through our Transaction News web page. For larger transactions IIB management prepares a full national press release that will be sent out over the wire. This helps IIB affiliated bankers improve their web presence and obtain new clients.
IIB can also provide deal exposure on a confidential basis to a list of institutional investors who are interested in learning more about deals IIB bankers are working on. We strive to send out a Deal Sheet approximately every quarter.
